An abundant and early-blooming Burpless Early Spring F1 hybrid slicing cucumber that yields plentiful slender dark green fruits, each reaching a length of 12 inches. The cucumbers feature extra crispness and boast a mild white flesh. For optimal results, it is recommended to grow this variety upright on a trellis, providing support under glass or in a warm and sheltered position.

Sowing & Growing
Begin indoors from February to May by planting seeds on their edge, 0.5cm (¼”) deep, in small pots filled with compost. Water thoroughly and position in a warm environment, with an ideal temperature range of 20-25°C (68-77°F). Maintain moisture, and expect seedlings to emerge within 7-14 days. Once the plants have developed 3 or 4 leaves, transplant them into larger pots, allowing them to grow in cooler conditions, though not excessively cold. Plant them outdoors between May and June, either in large pots, growing bags, or fertile, well-drained soil in the greenhouse border. Harvest the cucumbers from July to October.
For optimal growth, cucumbers thrive in a humid atmosphere, so regularly damp down the greenhouse. Once fruits begin to form, ensure regular feeding to maximize yields. Provide support and guide plants upwards using canes, strings, or netting. Stop lateral growth once 4 sets of leaves have formed. Male flowers, lacking swelling behind the petals, play a vital role as pollinators for the female flowers, which ultimately produce the fruits. Allow the male flowers to remain on the plants until they fade. Occasionally, fruits may develop a few small, white spines that can be gently rubbed off.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
