An easy-to-grow, reliable plant which provides high-impact colour in the first year, Lilies are fast growing, colourful and generous with their blooms. Simply plant the hardy lily (or Lilium) bulbs in your garden in spring and a few months later you’ll enjoy an impressive display, almost effortlessly!

You’ll see there’s a wide range of colours to choose from, some lilies have a heady fragrance and others don’t, but make up for it with pure vibrance. Lilies are tall and narrow which makes them ideal for dotting into spaces in the border, filling large patio containers or for padding out a tight space with luscious leaves and bright blooms at a noticeable height rather than down on the ground. For the back of a border or to screen a fence or wall, try tree lilies—they can grow up to 2m tall in a matter of months. In autumn, simply cut the lilies down to the ground, it couldn’t be simpler!
