Initiate cucumber seed sowing under cover from late April, preferably inside the house or using a heated propagator. Plant the seeds approximately 2 cm deep in the finest seed sowing compost, as cucumber germination can be a bit challenging. Place one cucumber seed per small pot or seed cell, and ensure the compost remains consistently moist.
