This extraordinary plant showcases an array of captivating red, yellow, and orange flowers arranged in small clusters. In warmer southern climates, lantana exhibits perennial or tropical shrub characteristics, reaching an impressive height of 10 feet. However, in most climates, it is commonly treated as an annual, yet still manages to achieve a substantial height of nearly 3 feet within a single growing season. As a bushy plant, it can span up to 6 feet in both height and width. To encourage continuous blooming and deter the growth of toxic berries, deadhead spent flowers. Lantanas are low-maintenance, thriving in well-drained soils, and offer a visually pleasing spectacle for observers, with butterflies being particularly drawn to the sweet nectar of their beautiful blooms.

Sowing & Growing
For optimal results, start by sowing indoors before the last anticipated frost. Alternatively, sow directly into the soil once the risk of frost has subsided. When sowing indoors, use moist, well-drained seed compost, covering the seeds with a light sprinkling of soil. Maintain an ideal temperature of 21°C for germination, a process that typically takes 1-2 weeks. After the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and nurture them under glass. Acclimate the plants before planting them outdoors once the threat of frost has passed.
If sowing directly into the soil, choose a location with moist, well-drained soil and ensure it remains consistently moist until the plants are well-established. In terms of growth, these plants thrive best under glass in the UK. Use a loam-based compost in full light conditions. Water generously during periods of growth, and if desired, fertilize every 2 weeks. In the winter, reduce watering to maintain a slightly moist environment. Provide frost-free winter protection to ensure the plant’s well-being.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much.
