Cucumber Yellow Ball is an interesting and unusual cucurbit originating from the Karnataka region of India, where it is known as ‘Dosekai’. Wide range of uses including curries and stir-fries. Plants are very similar in growth to an indeterminate cucumber and bear mid-sized spherical, yellow fruit measuring 11-14 cm in diameter. High level of resistance to powdery and downy mildew.

Sowing & Growing
Sow at 21-24C singly in small pots Feb onwards 1.25cm deep. Pot up into 12cm pots grow on at 18C. At 4 leaf stage pot into larger pots or growbags, Train plants up a wire or canes. Outdoor varieties can be sown after last frosts when the ground has warmed up until June. These take approximately 40 days to reach maturity, but do enjoy full Sun. Growth height is around 2-2.2m with a spread of around 70cm.
