Sowing & Growing
Cucumber White Wonder is a popular and easy-to-grow variety of cucumber that can be grown in the UK. Here are the steps to sow and grow Cucumber White Wonder both indoors and outdoors.
Indoor Sowing: To start cucumbers indoors, begin sowing seeds in small containers around 3 to 4 weeks before the last expected frost in the area. Use a good-quality seed-starting mix and sow 2-3 seeds per container. Place them in a warm, sunny spot and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. When the seedlings emerge, thin them out to one per container.
Outdoor Sowing: In the UK, Cucumber White Wonder can be directly sown outdoors in the late spring to early summer, around mid-May to mid-June. Choose a sunny and sheltered spot with well-drained soil, and dig in some organic matter to improve the soil’s fertility. Sow the seeds about 1-2cm deep and 60-90cm apart in rows, and cover them with soil. Water gently and keep the soil moist until the seedlings emerge.
The ideal temperature range for Cucumber White Wonder is between 20-27°C, so make sure to keep the plants warm and protected from any late frosts. When the seedlings have grown to around 10-15cm tall, transplant them into their final positions in the garden or containers. If you have sown seeds directly outdoors, thin them out to around 30-45cm apart to give them enough space to grow.
Cucumber White Wonder is ready to harvest around 50-70 days after sowing, depending on the weather conditions. Look for fruits that are around 15-20cm long and 5-7cm wide, and pick them when they are still young and tender. Harvesting regularly will encourage the plant to produce more fruit.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
