Rhodochiton are deciduous perennial climbers with twining stems bearing simple, heart-shaped leaves, and solitary, pendent, tubular flowers with large calyces Sow from February to April on the surface of a good quality moistened seed compost and press lightly into the surface – Placing the seed tray in a plastic bag after sowing will help conserve moisture.

Sow under cover from late winter to early spring, just covering the seed. Keep moist and warm, 15-18°C is ideal. Pot seedlings into individual pots to grow on and acclimatise plants to outdoor temperatures before planting out after last frosts.
