Sowing & Growing
Exercise caution when handling the extremely fine seeds; sow them thinly on the surface of fine-grade seed compost and press them in gently—avoid covering them. For optimal results, sow indoors or undercover from February to March, maintaining a minimum temperature of 15°C. Following these guidelines, germination is expected to occur in approximately 10-14 days.
Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them to seed trays and nurture them until May. At this point, you can consider planting them outdoors, but ensure they’ve undergone proper hardening off. To thrive, these plants require well-watered, damp conditions and preferably grow in part to full shade.
Alternatively, from March to April, sow the seeds in a hotbed or pallet planters, still avoiding covering them with soil. Instead, press them gently into the soil using a small board. Germination typically occurs within two weeks. These plants favor fertile, light humus soils. Maintain soil moisture and cultivate them in semi-shaded locations; the moister the soil, the more they prefer sunny positions.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
