Silage is fermented, high-moisture stored fodder which can be fed to cattle, sheep and other cud-chewing animals or used as a biofuel feedstock for anaerobic digesters. Our Long Term mix is designed to produce year on year, with perennial ryegrasses which grow quickly.
This mix contains both tetraploid PRG (with more upright growth) and diploid PRG (which are more persistent and produce denser sward)
This mix is sold by the acreage, with each acre being 13Kg.

Sowing & Growing
Sow at 20g per m2 for bare ground
Sow at 10-15g per m2 for overseeding a grass underlay
We recommend you sow this mix using ploughing and harrowing at a depth of about 15mm. You can also broadcast sow, but should take care to roll the area to prevent uneven growth.
As the primary goal of this silage mix is to produce as much fodder as possible we recommend fortifying the area with nitrogen to improve growth rate.
