‘Germidour’ is a highly rewarding garlic variety known for its large, compact bulbs with white, papery skin streaked with pink and purple. Its mild, subtle flavour and delicate aroma make it ideal for a range of savoury dishes, whether used raw in salad dressings or cooked. Originating from France, this variety is a recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, prized for being virus-free and reliably productive, with bulbs containing 10-12 succulent cloves. As a ‘soft neck’ garlic, it doesn’t produce flower stems and matures earlier than ‘hard neck’ types, while also offering superior storage, lasting up to three months after harvest.

Plant garlic in rows in any well drained soil in full sun. It is important that the soil does not become waterlogged so incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve drainage and feed the soil. On particularly heavy soils, grow garlic in raised beds. Carefully split the bulb into individual cloves. Plant each clove at a depth of 2cm (1″) below the surface of the soil and 10cm (4″) apart, leaving 45cm (18″) between each row

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
