Sow March to July, thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2″) deep with 30cm (12″) between rows. Thin the seedlings gradually as they grow to an eventual spacing of 10cm (4″). Do not transplant. Only needs watering when there is a drought. Lift carefully and leave about 5cm (2″) of stalk to prevent bleeding when cooking.
Harvest June to October. The roots hold for a good period before going woody . Ideal pulled and stored for winter use .

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
