Cultivate a garden adorned with the charming annual Yellow Pygmy Sunflower, boasting lemon yellow petals that encircle a chocolatey brown center. These plants have a mature height of approximately 1 to 2 feet, making them ideal for low-growing flower beds. The Yellow Pygmy variety is a single stem type, growing upright with one striking bloom per plant. The leaves, typical of sunflowers, are large and spade-shaped, while the flowers measure around 6 inches in diameter.

Sowing & Growing
When it comes to sowing, Sunflowers, being less fond of transplantation, are best started indoors. Begin the process in peat pots about 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. Plant the seeds at a depth of 1/2″ beneath the topsoil. If transplanting, move the entire pots into the garden, or opt for direct sowing when the weather is warm and free from the threat of frost. Consider staking your Sunflowers temporarily until the stems gain enough strength to stand on their own.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
