Creeping Thyme is recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Also a great plant for creating scented lawn, creeping thyme plants grow best in well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Like most herb plants, creeping thyme seems to thrive in poor soils. They will grow best in full sun, although they will tolerate some shade.

Sowing & Growing
Plant creeping thyme from seeds in the spring. In its first year, it’s a slow-to-moderate grower, but once it’s established, it will spread quicker in subsequent years. Ideal, is to sow the Creeping Thyme Seed indoors 6 – 8 weeks before the last frost. Sprinkle seed thinly on seed trays but cover the seed very very lightly or not at all. Place ideally in a heated propagator or cover with a polythene bag and keep at 20C . Seed should germinate in 2 weeks. Transplant into small pots when large enough.
Creeping thyme plants can become woody over time. If woody stems take over, you may want to remove and replace the plants or strongly prune back the plants to rejuvenate growth. Creeping thyme is a hardy plant that doesn’t have many problems, although it can be susceptible to root rot in wet, soggy soil.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
