Sowing & Growing
Surface sow Feb to July indoors onto lightly firmed, moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Light is needed for germination. Propagate 18-20°C. Germination can be slow and erratic taking many weeks. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle to 15cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed.
Will grow in any soil in any situation. Can be invasive so restrict root run. Pinch out growing tips of young plant to encourage bushiness and vigorous growth. Water in dry weather. Cultivation Instructions Cut back regularly to encourage new growth and to prevent flowering (if growing for leaf production). Will die back to ground level in winter. Divide plants every 3 years to maintain plant vigour. Top dress with compost in autumn.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
