This high-yielding variety, an enhanced version of the ‘Shirley’ type, is well-suited for cultivation in both cool and warm greenhouses. It yields slightly flattened, medium-sized, and vibrant red fruits with excellent flavour. Notably, the plants exhibit resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus and various Fusarium strains.

Sowing & Growing
Tomato seeds are ideally planted between late January and April, maintaining a temperature of 21-27C for germination, typically occurring within 7 to 14 days. Once the seedlings boast 2-4 leaves, transplant them into individual 3-inch pots, ensuring ample spacing to prevent legginess. Allow roots to fill the pot before progressing to Gro-Bags or 10-inch pots. Protect tomato plants from frost at all times.
By the time they reach 8 inches, provide support through staking, stringing, or growing frames. Remove lower yellowing leaves to enhance air circulation and expedite ripening. Tomatoes thrive in sunny positions, with cherry varieties excelling in patio containers and hanging baskets. Maintain consistent moisture levels, avoiding overwatering or complete drying of the compost. Water in the early morning, keeping water away from leaves to reduce disease risk. Harvest tomatoes as they show color, knowing they continue ripening off the plant. Store ripe tomatoes at room temperature away from direct sunlight, refraining from refrigeration as it diminishes flavor and texture. Only refrigerate extra-ripe tomatoes if further ripening is undesired.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
