Long Red Marconi peppers, true to their name, yield elongated, slender fruits boasting a delightful, mild sweetness. Starting as medium green, these peppers transform into a deep red at maturity, showcasing both aesthetic appeal and productivity. Growing Long Red Marconi peppers is as straightforward as cultivating tomatoes, requiring similar care. While peppers can thrive outdoors in a sheltered, sunny location, optimal results are often achieved when they are cultivated within the protective confines of a polytunnel or a glasshouse. These peppers prove versatile in culinary applications, enhancing the flavor profile of salads when consumed raw. Moreover, they shine in cooked dishes, whether stuffed, roasted, or incorporated into savory sauces, adding a burst of deliciousness to your culinary creations.

Sowing & Growing
Optimal timing for sowing is between February and April. Sow the seeds by placing them on the surface of well-draining compost in pots or trays. Cover them with a fine layer of compost or vermiculite, then position them in an environment with a temperature range of 18-21°C until germination occurs.
Once the seedlings have grown sufficiently to handle, transplant them into 7cm (3in) pots and nurture them under glass. When the plants reach a height of 10cm (4in), further transplant them into growbags or 25cm (10in) pots, continuing to cultivate them under glass. Initiate a weekly feeding regimen with tomato fertilizer once the first fruits have set.
Anticipate harvesting your crops from late July to October.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
