This strong, early-maturing F1 hybrid swede, which was produced in Britain, thrives in less fertile soils. The globe-shaped roots have lovely cream-coloured flesh with a delicate texture and flavour, as well as attractive purple shoulders.

Sowing & Growing
To prevent foliage mildew, sow in early May in the North and late May in the South, with a maturity period of 20-24 weeks.
For sowing, place seeds thinly into finely raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of 13mm (1/2″) in rows 45cm (18″) apart. Germination typically occurs within 6-10 days. Thin the seedlings gradually to 15cm (6″) apart between plants. The plants grow best in well-cultivated soil in an open position, and lime should be added if necessary. When harvesting, twist off the tops.
