Sowing & Growing
To prevent foliage mildew, sow in early May in the North and late May in the South, with a maturity period of 20-24 weeks.
For sowing, place seeds thinly into finely raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of 13mm (1/2″) in rows 45cm (18″) apart. Germination typically occurs within 6-10 days. Thin the seedlings gradually to 15cm (6″) apart between plants. The plants grow best in well-cultivated soil in an open position, and lime should be added if necessary. When harvesting, twist off the tops.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
