The Queensland Blue Squash is a delightful ribbed variety, resembling a muffin top, characterized by its bluish-green outer skin and vibrant orange flesh. This heritage variety, originating from Australia, predates 1932 and is initially documented in a seed catalogue. It boasts a rich, sweet flavour that adds to its overall appeal.

Sowing & Growing
Sow indoors from April to May under glass or outdoors from mid-May to June. Indoors, sow seeds on edge 1.5cm (1/2″) deep, spacing them 2.5cm (1″) apart under glass at 20°C (68°F) using high-quality seed sowing compost. Outdoors, sow directly into the growing site 1.5cm (1/2″) deep, placing 2 to 3 seeds in each position 90-100cm (36-40″) apart.
For indoor sowings, gradually harden off plants once they have developed the first pair of rough leaves. Transplant them to the growing site in late-May to early-June, spacing them 90-100cm (36-40″) apart, after the risk of frost has passed. For outdoor sowings, thin to one plant per station.
Expect maturity in September to October.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
