Useful Information

Sowing & Growing

To sow Chilli Ring of Fire seeds successfully, begin by selecting high-quality seeds from a reputable supplier or saved from a previous harvest. Fill a seed tray or small pots with premium seed compost, ensuring the compost is moistened with a fine water spray, maintaining a balance between moisture and avoiding waterlogging. Sow one or two seeds per pot or tray, covering them with a thin layer of compost and placing them approximately 1cm deep. Create a humid environment for the seeds by covering the pots or tray with a propagator lid or plastic wrap. Position the pots or tray in a warm spot, ideally around 20-25°C, encouraging germination, and consider using a heat mat to maintain consistent temperature.

Upon the emergence of seedlings, remove the lid or wrap, and relocate them to a bright, sunny location, such as a south-facing window. Keep the compost consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged, preventing the seedlings from drying out or becoming overwatered. After the seedlings develop their first true leaves, transplant them into individual pots or a larger tray using high-quality potting compost. When the chilli plants establish a robust root system and reach a height of around 10-15cm, transplant them into their final growing position, whether in a greenhouse or outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot.

Continue caring for your chilli plants by providing adequate water and nutrients. Regularly monitor them for pests and diseases, taking appropriate action if necessary. Following these steps diligently should help you successfully sow and grow your Chilli Ring of Fire seeds!
