As one of the earliest, most sought-after, and dependable varieties, this cultivar yields abundant crops of deep purple, egg-shaped globes. These sturdy plants produce fruits that grow to approximately 5 to 6 inches. The flesh of these eggplants is smooth, creamy, and pale yellow.

Sowing & Growing
Sow from January to April, placing seeds 2cm (¾”) apart in seed trays or two seeds per cell in modules under glass at a temperature of 20°C. Lightly cover the seeds with compost. Once the seedlings have developed two full leaves, carefully transplant them into individual pots. Allow them to grow on before planting them in grow-bags or large pots. When transplanting them outdoors, choose a sunny and sheltered location. Expect maturity between July and October, and consider providing some support for the plants. Be cautious of the calyx, as it can be prickly and potentially cause discomfort.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
