Sowing & Growing
Growing Geums requires attention to soil conditions, as they are not fond of waterlogged soils in winter. Aim for moist, fertile, and well-drained soil, amending heavy clay or sandy soils with ample compost or well-rotted manure. Position them at the front of the border to bask in full sun.
Sow Geums in late summer/autumn or late winter/late spring at temperatures between 18 to 22°C in a well-drained compost mix. Cover the seeds with vermiculite and water from the base of the tray, ensuring the compost remains consistently moist but not overly wet. Germination typically occurs within 21 to 28 days, occasionally taking a bit longer.
Once each seedling develops its first set of true leaves, prick it out and transplant it into 7.5cm pots or trays containing peaty soil. Continue growing them under glass, gradually acclimatizing them to outdoor conditions over 10 to 15 days before planting out in spring. Space the plants 40cm apart.

Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much.
