Known alternatively as ‘Pascal Giant,’ ‘Giant Pascal’ is a French heirloom variety that reaches a height of 2 feet. It features light green leaves and stems that are impressively thick, measuring 2 inches in diameter and boasting a nutty flavor. Due to the substantial size of the stems, it’s essential to ensure adequate watering to prevent hollowness or dryness in the plants.
True to its name, this tall and crisp celery variety offers stringless, green stalks with tightly folded hearts and thick, well-rounded stems. Widely recognized as a favoured salad vegetable for its sweet and crisp stalks, celery also shines when braised or chopped into casseroles.

Sowing & Growing
Plant the fine seeds from February to April by sowing them sparingly in pots or trays under glass at a temperature of 18°C. Scatter the seeds on top of moist seed-sowing compost and lightly cover them to their own depth. Once the seedlings reach a size suitable for handling, carefully transplant them into trays, spacing them 5cm (2″) apart. When the seedlings attain a height of 6-7cm (3-4″), gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions before planting them out 20cm (9″) apart, ensuring all risk of frost has passed. Adequately water the plants throughout the growing season, aiming for maturity between August and November. Celery thrives with consistent watering during the summer, and occasional weak foliar feeding proves beneficial.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
