Mongolian Giant produces an impressive giant sunflower, reaching towering heights of up to 420cm (14ft) with expansive seed heads measuring up to 45cm (18in) across. This true giant stands out for its remarkable size, both in plant height and seed head diameter. The seeds themselves are among the largest available, making them true giants in every aspect. To cultivate, sow these sunflowers like any other, but be sure to provide robust support structures to accommodate their towering growth.

Sowing & Growing
Germination can typically take 14-21 days, and the optimal soil temperature for germination ranges from 20C to 30C. When sowing, ensure a depth of 1/4 inch, and provide spacing of 4-6 inches for seeds and 24-36 inches for mature plants. The anticipated plant height is 10-14 feet, and it thrives in full sun.
For an early start, seeds can be initiated indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last spring frost. Alternatively, sow seeds directly outside after all frost risks have diminished, planting them at a depth of 1/4 inch. Late sowing, up to 100 days before the last frost, is also feasible.
Once seedlings reach 2 to 3 inches in height, thin them and transfer to individual pots, replanting the thinned plants. It’s essential to gradually acclimate them before planting outdoors after the threat of frost has passed. In locations that aren’t fully sheltered, staking or support will be necessary for these plants.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
