This sunflower variety is devoid of pollen and features impressive 5-7” flowers. Its shrub-like growth pattern makes it an excellent choice for border planting or container gardening. The dark stems and leaves provide a striking contrast to the deep burnt red center and vibrant yellow outer ring of the flowers. With a maturity period of approximately 55 days, it can be successively planted for an extended flowering season. Sunflowers are known to attract various beneficial insects, particularly bees and monarch butterflies. For optimal impact, plant in full sun.

Sowing & Growing
Plant directly in the designated flowering area by sowing seeds 15mm deep in finely prepared, finely raked soil. Sow two seeds together every 45cm, and expect seedlings to emerge within 14-21 days. Once they are sizable enough to handle, thin out the weaker of the two plants, and consider replanting elsewhere if necessary. Ensure thorough watering until the plants are established.
For an early start, initiate indoor sowing by planting seeds in individual pots at a depth of 15mm. Place the pots in a cold frame or greenhouse, keeping the soil consistently moist. Acclimate the seedlings gradually and transplant them outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
