Ideal for cultivation in colder regions like the UK, this French garlic variety is well-suited to the climate. The cloves yield small to medium-sized bulbs, characterized by a robust flavour. Given a maturation period of 6 to 8 months, it is advisable to plant them early, preferably before frosts set in.

Planting
Plant the cloves at a depth of 1″ to 3″ with a minimum spacing of 5″. Optimal growth occurs in well-drained, fertile soil, avoiding areas prone to waterlogging, which can be detrimental to the cloves/bulbs. Sow between November and December, as well as from February to March. This variety is well-suited for container/pot planting.
Harvest when the bulbs are fully developed, and the foliage has naturally withered.
When working with bulbs and tubers, it’s advisable to wear gloves, as they may cause skin irritation and can be harmful if ingested.
For a harmonious garden, consider planting Garlic alongside other seasonal vegetables like Onions and Potatoes. This combination not only works well together but ensures a continuous supply throughout the season.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
