Fast maturing hard-neck variety ideally suited for growing in UK.

When planting, place the cloves 15cm apart with the tip 2.5cm below the surface and keep the rows approx. 30cm apart. Water the cloves immediately after planting and make sure the plants have adequate water during dry periods. Wild birds often pull up newly planted garlic cloves so it is advised to cover them until they have rooted in.
Horticultural fleece is very suitable for this task. Garlic suffers from very few pests and diseases. Because it takes up so little space and has a reputation for warding off a variety of pests many gardeners prefer to grow garlic interspersed between other crops.
