Useful Information

Sowing & Growing

Plant the seeds 1/2 inch deep in moist soil. Before starting you can try and aid germination chances by soaking seeds in water for 24 hours; expect germination in 14 to 28 days. When transplanting, handle seedlings individually into 3-inch pots, always gripping by the leaf, not the stem.

If sown in Autumn, overwinter the plants in a light, cool location. Harden them off before planting out once the risk of frost has passed, typically from mid-March through May. Pinch out tips when seedlings develop 4 pairs of leaves.

As a climbing variety, these plants benefit from support such as canes or trellis. They thrive in full sun to light shade and produce blooms from June through October, attracting butterflies to your garden.
