The Look: Its common name, “Chinese Houses,” comes from the way its flowers are arranged in tiered, pagoda-like whorls. The “bicolor” part of its old name refers to the distinct two-toned petals, which typically feature a white upper lip and a deep purple or lilac lower lip.
Habit: It is an upright, branching annual that generally reaches about 12–20 inches in height, making it an excellent size for filling in mid-border spaces or adding unique architectural interest to a container.
Growing Conditions: Unlike many sun-loving annuals, Chinese Houses actually prefer part shade and appreciate moist, well-drained soil. They are particularly well-suited to gardens that don’t get scorching full-day sun.
Pollinator Magnet: They are highly valued for their ability to attract native bees and butterflies, making them a fantastic choice for a wildlife-friendly garden

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
