Monarda fistulosa, the wild bergamot or bee balm, is a wildflower in the mint family, widespread and abundant as a native plant in much of North America. This plant, with showy summer-blooming pink to lavender flowers, is often used as a honey plant, medicinal plant, and garden ornamental.

Sow 2mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost, just cover the seed with soil. Can also be sown directly in late spring 3-4mm deep into good compost. Germination takes 10-30 days.
