Blue Velvet Sweet Peas display exceptionally deep purple-blue ruffled flowers, so dark that they almost shimmer black in the Summer sunlight, emitting an enchanting perfume. With sturdy stems boasting 6 to 7 flowers each, they are particularly well-suited as cut flowers.
These sweet peas can reach a height of up to 6 feet, making them an excellent climbing variety for walls and trellises. Their spread extends from 3 to 6 feet wide, adding to their appeal as a vibrant and expansive floral display.
Please note seeds are poisonous if ingested.

Sowing & Growing
Plant the seeds 1/2 inch deep in moist soil. Before starting you can try and aid germination chances by soaking seeds in water for 24 hours; expect germination in 14 to 28 days. When transplanting, handle seedlings individually into 3-inch pots, always gripping by the leaf, not the stem.
If sown in Autumn, overwinter the plants in a light, cool location. Harden them off before planting out once the risk of frost has passed, typically from mid-March through May. Pinch out tips when seedlings develop 4 pairs of leaves.
As a climbing variety, these plants benefit from support such as canes or trellis. They thrive in full sun to light shade and produce blooms from June through October, attracting butterflies to your garden.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
