It is one of the robust semi-evergreen varieties with globes of deep blue flowers, which open very early in the year, sometimes as early as May. A hardy perennial, huge true blue globular heads flower freely on stout stems above strap-shaped leaves. This seemingly completely hardy variety forms thick established clumps which improve over the years.

Sowing & Growing
Plant the seeds at your convenience, burying them 5mm deep in compost or grit, ideally in a cool, well-lit outdoor location. Avoid the use of artificial heat, as it may hinder germination. Some species require a period of chilling or freezing in a moist seed tray during the winter for successful germination in the subsequent spring. Cultivate the seedlings in small pots before transplanting them into well-draining compost in a container or directly into the open ground in a spot with good drainage.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
