Sowing & Growing
Commence sowing from late February onward by placing seeds in trays or pots and covering them with a gentle layer of soil. Maintain a consistently moist environment and keep the containers in semi-shaded conditions at a temperature of 18°C. As the plants develop their second set of true leaves, thin them out to achieve a spacing of 10cm. Once they’ve reached an appropriate size, transplant them into the garden, ensuring they are acclimatized to outdoor conditions.
It’s crucial to avoid planting strawberries in areas where potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, or raspberries have been cultivated within the past three years. This precautionary measure helps maintain optimal soil health and promotes successful strawberry growth.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
