Sowing & Growing
Start the cultivation of these plants by sowing indoors. Surface sow the seeds onto moist, well-drained seed compost, covering them with only a light sprinkling of soil. Maintain a propagation temperature of 20-25°C, keeping the soil consistently moist but not saturated. Expect germination within 10-14 days. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them to 8cm pots and continue growth in cooler conditions. Acclimatize the plants and, once the risk of frost has passed, plant them outdoors with a spacing of 30cm.
These plants thrive in full sun and, once established, require minimal watering.
Prolong the flowering period by removing faded flower spikes. Deadhead if you want to prevent self-seeding. If seed collection is desired, allow the spherical heads to become dry and brown before cutting. Do not remove old stems until new growth appears in spring. For perennial Salvias, the best time for division is early spring, prior to the emergence of new growth.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
