Outdoors, sow the seeds thinly from April to July directly into finely-prepared, well-cultivated, and watered fertile soil, at a depth of 2.5cm (1″). Maintain a spacing of 30cm (1′) between rows. Seedlings typically emerge within 7-21 days. Once the seedlings are established, thin them to 10cm (4″) apart. Ensure thorough watering during the establishment of plants. To ensure a consistent yield of young beets, make regular sowings every three weeks. Harvest the beets from July to October.
