Sowing & Growing
Sow Eschscholzia seeds directly outdoors in the desired growing location from March to May or in September for overwintering. For autumn sowings, expect flowers to bloom in late spring. Choose a sunny spot with poor, well-drained soil that has been finely raked. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm (1/2″) in drills spaced 15cm (6″) apart, covering them with soil to exclude light. Regularly water the soil, especially during dry periods, and anticipate germination in 14-21 days. Once the seedlings are sufficiently large, thin them out to a spacing of 15cm (6″). Alternatively, for indoor cultivation, sow California poppies indoors between February and March at a temperature of 15-21C (60-70F). After the seedlings reach an appropriate size, transplant and nurture them in cooler conditions until they are ready for outdoor planting.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
