The Dichondra Repens or Kidney Weed is a very popular grass seed and is used as a replacement to the standard lawn in many Mediterranean countries especially Italy, Spain and southern France. It remains short, requiring little or even no cutting and very little watering to remain green and healthy.
The coverage it gives is very soft and almost ‘springy’ underfoot. Even though it is used in Mediterranean areas it is not harmed by the harshest of winter weathers. Will spread quickly through its creeping roots so excellent for quick ground coverage. In heavily used areas, stepping stones will help to protect it.

Sowing & Growing
Sow at a rate of 5-10g per m2
Scatter seed over loose soil, keep watered. If the area is sunny, consider watering twice a day until the seeds sprout.
Dichondra Repens spreads rapidly, filling in any gaps on its own.
It can also be planted in hanging baskets as a cascading plant, or employed in green walls.
