An enchanting dwarf variety, reaching a height of only 1.2m (4ft), it features somewhat waxy leaves adorned with a pinkish midrib. The flowers display a charming spectrum from pink to orange, while the exceptionally ornamental fruits—dwarf bananas—are a vivid, velvety pink and endure for months. This species exhibits remarkable cold tolerance and can withstand frosty winters if adequately mulched when planted outdoors. Alternatively, it excels as an indoor plant, standing out as one of the few bananas capable of flowering and fruiting within the confines of a house.

Sowing & Growing
Sow during late winter/late spring or late summer/autumn. Before sowing, immerse the seeds in water for 24 hours. Soaking serves a dual purpose: it softens hard seed coats and eliminates any chemical inhibitors that might hinder germination. 24 hours in initially warm water is typically adequate. If soaking for an extended period, change the water daily. Some species’ seeds expand during soaking. As each seed swells, promptly remove and sow it before it dries out. Gently prick the remaining seeds with a pin and return them to soak.
Plant the seeds in peaty compost, covering them with a 6mm (¼ in) layer of soil as they require light for germination. Passiflora germination typically occurs within weeks, occasionally taking several months. If your indoor environment is below 20°C (68°F), provide bottom heat with an electric soil warming cable kit or a heating mat to stimulate early growth and cut germination time in half. Cover the pot’s top with clear plastic to maintain high humidity. As tiny plants begin to sprout, gradually open the pot’s top each day to avoid shocking the new seedlings with a sudden drop in humidity.
As each seedling becomes large enough to handle, carefully prick it out and transplant it into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Pot on as needed. Handle these plants with care during potting, as they possess delicate white roots.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much.
