The first berries ripen in the year of planting. Plantation stays in one place for 2-3 years. Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in pots in a greenhouse at approximately 18-21ºC (65-70ºF) using a quality compost . Press seed into the surface and cover with 3mm (1/8″) finely sieved compost (germination 10-30 days). Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle singly into 50mm (2″) pots.

Sowing & Growing
For indoor sowing, delicately sow the seeds in trays filled with seed compost, ensuring a sparse distribution. Do not cover the seeds with compost, as germination requires exposure to light. Gently firm the soil and keep it consistently moist. To create a conducive environment, cover the tray with glass, polythene, or a propagator lid, maintaining a temperature of approximately 20°C. Expect seedlings to emerge within 14-28 days.
As the seedlings develop, remove the cover, and once they reach a sufficient size, transplant them into individual pots. Continue their growth at around 15°C. In late May, gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions, avoiding exposure to frost. For final planting, transplant them 20cm (8in) apart in the flowering position or into large patio containers. Ensure they remain well-hydrated and free from weeds to encourage healthy growth and blooming.
