One of the spring garden’s beloved perennials, this plant is a common and delightful feature in rock gardens. It creates a compact, bushy mound adorned with grey-green leaves, covered in profuse tiny, bright golden-yellow flowers that persist for several weeks. An excellent choice for edging, rock walls, or mixed containers, it complements other spring-blooming rock garden plants like Arabis or Aubrieta, harmonizing beautifully with various spring bulbs. After the blooming period, trim the plants by half.

Sowing & Growing
Sow the seeds indoors between February and March, or directly in the garden in April to May or during autumn. Direct sowing is generally recommended for optimal results. Plant the seeds at a depth of 3mm in well-prepared soil, which should be raked to create a fine tilth. Germination typically occurs within 7-14 days. Once sprouted, thin the seedlings to achieve a final spacing of 15cm. For an early bloom, consider indoor sowing at a depth of 2mm in moist, well-drained seed compost with an ideal temperature range of 13-18°C. Transplant the seedlings into 8cm pots when they are large enough to handle, allowing them to grow on. Acclimatize the plants and, after the risk of frost has passed, plant them outdoors with a spacing of 15cm. Autumn sowings will emerge the following spring, resulting in earlier flowering.
When it comes to growth, this plant thrives in a light, moderately fertile, and well-drained soil under full sun exposure. Cultivate the area by trimming the plant all over after flowering, as this practice encourages the development of additional blooms.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
