Sowing & Growing
Sow yarrow seeds either in spring or autumn, choosing to plant them directly outdoors in the designated flowering area or in seed trays. Achillea, the genus to which yarrow belongs, requires light for germination. To achieve this, sow the fine seeds on the surface of a moist and well-draining compost in plugs or trays. After sowing, lightly cover the seeds with a fine layer of vermiculite. To retain moisture until the first seedlings emerge, cover the trays with polythene. Germination typically occurs within around 7 days when the temperature is maintained between 15 to 20 degrees Celsius.
