Sowing & Growing
To sow Pea Blauwschokker seeds start by selecting a suitable location with well-drained, fertile soil that receives plenty of sunlight. It’s best to sow the seeds from March to June, when the soil has warmed up and the risk of frost has passed.
Before sowing the seeds, prepare the soil by digging it over and removing any weeds, rocks or debris. Add compost or well-rotted manure to improve soil fertility and texture.
Next, make a shallow trench with a hoe or rake, and space the seeds about 5cm apart. Cover the seeds with soil and water gently, making sure not to dislodge them. Pea Blauwschokker seeds germinate best in soil temperatures of around 10-20°C, so keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. The seeds should germinate within 7-21 days.
As the plants grow, provide support such as canes or netting for them to climb. Pea Blauwschokker plants prefer cooler temperatures, around 15-18°C, and will tolerate light frosts. Water regularly, especially during dry periods.
Pea Blauwschokker plants will start to produce pods around 12-14 weeks after sowing. Harvest the pods regularly to encourage more growth. The best time to harvest is when the pods are plump and the peas inside are just starting to swell. This is usually around June to August, depending on when the seeds were sown.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
