Long and free flowering border plant with Marigold-like foliage
Cosmos sulphureus is native to Mexico, Central America, and South America.
The daisy-like flowers are very similar in appearance to garden cosmos, with exception of the colour. Sulphureus has unique orange and yellow flowers, which add a bright spot to the garden space, wherever they are planted.
Plant indoors before the final anticipated frost. Plant as soon as there is no longer a chance of frost. Sow indoors in seed compost that is well-drained and damp. Simply sprinkle some soil on top. The ideal temperature is 21°C. It takes a week to germinate. Seedlings should be cultivated under glass in individual pots once they are big enough to handle. Once the risk of frost has passed, acclimatise and plant out. Direct sowing: place seeds in damp, well-drained soil; maintain moisture levels until plants take root.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
