A very useful versatile herb, Chervil has light green, fine fern-like leaves with the taste of somewhere between light aniseed & Parsley. Sometimes called French parsley or garden chervil, it’s a delicate annual herb related to parsley. It is commonly used to season mild-flavoured dishes and is a constituent of the French herb mixture fines herbes.

Sowing & Growing
Either sow direct (April-August) into a drill 1cm deep and water carefully, germination will take around 10 days under the right conditions. When seedlings are large enough to handle thin to one every 30cm.
Alternatively, sow into modules (March-August) and ‘pot on’ when seedlings large enough to handle. As soon as they reach 7cm plant out into the final position. They are not keen on transplanting and this can cause them to bolt. Chervil grows well in large containers.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
