Weigelas are low-maintenance plants that quickly transform into lush shrubs adorned with vibrant flowers in early summer and, in some instances, striking variegated leaves. Numerous varieties have emerged from the widely favoured Weigela florida, a species from the Far East introduced in 1848, which has been extensively hybridized over the years. Weigela ‘Bristol Ruby’ features mid-green foliage paired with deep red, funnel-shaped blooms during the summer, making it an excellent choice for mixed borders, while its flowers attract bees. This variety thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. For pruning, it is advisable to trim back shoots to a strong pair of buds immediately after flowering. Once established, it is beneficial to remove about a quarter of the older stems to ground level annually to promote fresh growth.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
