Tomato Patio Plum Dwarf F1

£0.99

Emerging from Chesterfield, the Patio Plum stands out as a highly compact tomato hybrid, making it the perfect choice for a window box or container. These plants maintain a short stature, yielding small, red plum tomatoes comparable in size to small cherry tomatoes. ‘Patio Plum’ tomatoes can thrive both outdoors and in a glasshouse. As a determinate or bush tomato hybrid, Patio Plum requires minimal space, doesn’t need support, and is suitable for cultivation in various settings.

Useful Information

Sowing & Growing

Start your seeds from late winter to early spring, approximately 8 weeks before the last frosts in your region. Sow at a temperature of 20°C, ensuring the seeds are just covered. For transplanting, plant in a heated greenhouse in mid-February, in a cool greenhouse in mid-spring, and outdoors early in June after the risk of frost has passed. Transplant when the seedlings have two pairs of leaves into 7cm pots. Grow them on and later transplant into a greenhouse border, pots, or growbags.

For outdoor tomatoes, sow the seeds in March-April, transplant them to 7cm pots, and grow on before planting them outside after the last frost. Provide feeding after the first truss has set and pinch out side shoots on indeterminate plants (cordon). Whether you choose to grow in a greenhouse, plastic tunnel, or outdoors in warm areas, these steps will help you cultivate healthy and robust tomatoes.
