Our riding area mix produces a sward enabling frequent use with minimal damage, it’s also suitable for polo pitches and grass gallops.
Ryegrass is quick growing, providing a speedy green cover, and providing shade and protection for the other components of this mix; SSMG, which provides a dense bottom cover with a rich colour, and creeping red fescue, which spreads quickly and promotes a dense, sturdy sward. In combination these seeds make for a quick growing, hard wearing grass which can withstand busy hooves.
This mix is sold by acre coverage, with 1 acre being 25Kg.

Sowing and Growing
Sow at a rate of 25Kg an acre (6g per m2)
The area you select should be as flat as possible and well draining.
Broadcast sow onto a freshly turned area. Roll the surface to impact the seed.
Keep watered, remove weeds by hand until the grass grows. Once the grass is established it will prevent most weed growth.
