A no-faff, simple yet effective option for feeding livestock is that of a clover ley. Clover improves feed quality for livestock, rich in protein and fast growing. Supported by a bulk of hybrid ryegrass, our Red Clover Ley is an excellent choice for a 2-3 year ley, as Hybrid Ryegrass produces an impressive yield for that period of time, bolstered by the natural nitrogen fixing properties of clover.

Sow at a rate of 12Kg per Acre
Sow in late summer and early autumn
Broadcast (scatter) seed or shallow drill no deeper than 1cm. Small seeds struggle to germinate when sown deeper than 1cm.
Roll after sowing to retain moisture, ensure good seed-to-soil contact and reduce slug damage. Do not roll if the surface has running rainwater.
