A mixture of many attractive low-growing sedum varieties representing a wide range of foliage types and flower colours. They are low maintenance, evergreen perennials, durable and interesting. They enhance the appearance of green roofs and rockeries due to differing leaf forms, flower colours and extended flowering period. They can be used for edging a pathway or for the rock garden where they can be can grown around rocks or anchored into crevices of walls. They are also wonderful components for vertical walls. Sedum strut their stuff where many other plants dare not venture! These drought-tolerant succulents are hardy and easy to grow, requiring minimal care, only full sun and good drainage to thrive.

Useful Information

Germination; Can be sown directly when the temp. is above 10°C but best sown indoors at any time. Mix the seed with a little sand to aid sowing. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag to maintain humidity. Ideal temp. 18-22°C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks approx. Once germinated admit air. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.

Growing; Prefers any ordinary soil which is well-drained in full sun. Will tolerate partial sun. Sedums thrive on neglect. Established plants require little attention. Water only if the weather has been dry.

Cultivation; Cut back after flowering to maintain shape. Plants may be divided in spring or autumn. Will self-seed
