With Heliotrope you’ll need to sow indoors just 5mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost. You could place on a warm windowsill but to propagate you need a temperature range between 15-20C and kept moist, if you can keep to this you should have germination between 14-28 days.
Once it’s germinated allow to grow on until the seedlings are large enough to handle, this is when you’ll transplant to 8cm pots ready to grow on in cooler conditions. Once the danger of frost has passed, you can plant out with 45cm spacing between the plants.
If you’d like to encourage further flowering, deadhead your spent blooms. Also remember that this is not frost tolerant so if it is damaged by frost, you will have to remove the plant.

I have just bought all my new seeds for next year’s vegetables after having such great results this year. Budget seeds are so helpful, I’m a newbie in the veg growing world and they have been helpful in choosing the best seeds to start with etc. also much cheaper than elsewhere so if I do mess up in the future it isn’t costing me so much. I thoroughly recommend Budget Seeds for all your veg and flower seeds.
